How to work under 20 hours a week and make 6 figures as a coach

One of the biggest things I’m passionate about is helping women coaches actually find the time to grow their coaching business when they thought they had no time at all to work with due to the craziness of being a mom and constantly getting interrupted… 

Mainly because most I work with have at one time thought about closing down their business and giving up until their kids are grown.

So, it often feels like magic once I help a client to identify where they do have time in their busy life to actually dedicate to their business, which allows them to gain new coaching clients at $1k-$3k/month per client, and gives them plenty of time completely OFF so they never have to sacrifice family time again.  

Women can have it all. You are infinitely powerful to create exactly what you want. 

You don’t need to sacrifice in any part of your life, nor should you! 

For me, it all shifted once I came up with a really clear, and simple way of organizing my calendar as a mom and coach. 

This is worth $10k or more every month & relieves all stress and mom guilt if you apply it correctly (it’s been worth multiple six figures for me once I finally got a handle on it). 

Now, I want to share the same process I take my clients through to organize their coaching calendar, with you. 

Here’s what you do… 

You take two typical weeks and identify where in your day you have 3-4 hours to work with.

Then at the simplest level, you break out the hours like this:

Week 1:

10 hours with 1:1 clients (10 clients) ← that’s 2 hours a day, 5 days a week

5-10 hours on marketing ← that’s 1-2 hours a day, 5 days a week

Week 2:

5 hours on group program (unlimited clients)  ← that’s 1 hour a day, 5 days a week

10-15 hours on marketing & discovery calls ← that’s 2-3 hours a day, 5 days a week

Total hours spent per day: 3-4 hours.

 

YES, that is IT. That’s all you need. And you can even do it in less if you want. 

Then repeat this recurring until the end of time, or until you want to switch it up! 

 

Let’s say you want to take on less 1:1 clients and spend more time on your group program – you can do that and begin phasing your 1:1 clients out. 

Or, you can just take on 1:1 clients and that’s all you do and never even have a group program. 

It’s up to you!

However, the method I love taking clients through the most when we begin working together is: 

> Book 8 private 1:1 clients where your clients are paying you at least $1-3k/month each, which brings you $8k-$24k every single month. 

> And run a simple group program where you charge somewhere between $97-$500/mo. 

> All working 20 hours a week or less

This way, you have your high-ticket coaching clients that are paying all your bills and giving you freedom to explore paid advertising in your marketing time and expand your reach, at which point, you keep booking more group coaching clients and filling your group spots. 

This schedule will work no matter how much time you have to work with, as long as you are intentionally deciding when you work based on your real life and then deciding what you’re going to do in the hours you have.

Then you value both your time and the result you bring your coaching client and you decide to price it at the value it’s actually worth. 😉 

Chances are, the value you bring to your clients as a coach is very high-level as you’re providing the space for transformation to occur in their life. 

You can always price this somewhere between $1k-$3k or more when you identify the value you bring and the problem you solve for your client. If you don’t think you can charge at least $1k/month, it’s likely you aren’t clear on the full spectrum of results you bring them in your work together. Or, you simply want to help them, and they don’t yet have the resources to hire you 1:1, and you don’t have an alternate way to help that is lower-tier in price. When you follow my method as outlined above, you won’t ever doubt the value of your 1:1 program because you have the group option available to help them if they simply can’t do 1:1 at this time.

I don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t have this coaching calendar figured out. 

Having a 15-year-old who is doing school remotely in the middle of a pandemic and working on adopting a 13-year-old with special needs, there are other things that are important to me and so it’s up to me to create the coaching calendar that works best for my real life and still meet my goals and delivers high-level results for my clients. 

When you intentionally design your coaching calendar the right way, it will serve you and the life you want to live as BOTH a business woman and a mom. You are never stretched too thin or feel pulled between your family life and your business. Once you know your calendar, all you have to do is show up and market your business during that time, and it will make way for your 9-10 1:1 clients to come to you, filling every coaching spot – each priced somewhere between $1k-$3k per client which will result in a $9k-$30k month for you.
